The Heritage Science Laboratory Ljubljana is delighted to announce a new publication authored by Lana Nastja Anžur and prof. dr. Matija Strlič, titled “Učinek tehnologij pri upravljanju dediščine: nedenarno vrednotenje” (“The Impact of Technologies in Heritage Management: Non-Monetary Valuation”, published in Slovenian).
The contribution appears in the edited volume Od tržne konkurenčnosti tehnologije k družbeni tehnološki zrelosti (“From Market Competitiveness of Technology to Societal Technological Maturity”), edited by prof. dr. Slavko Splichal and jointly published by the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SAZU) and the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana – Založba FDV.
In their chapter, Anžur and Strlič explore how technological innovations in heritage science support value-based and socially responsible heritage management, with a particular focus on non-monetary valuation of cultural heritage. The work highlights the aspects where new technologies technology can deepen understanding, communication, and governance of cultural heritage within broader discussions on rle of cultural heritage within global sustainability frameworks.
This publication reinforces the laboratory’s mission to bridge heritage science, technology, and sustainability, developing interdisciplinary approaches that connect material research, social value assessment, and policy relevance.
