On Thursday, 23 October 2025, the 7th Lavrin Egyptian Evening will take place at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana (Lecture Room 325), featuring a guest lecture titled “Studies on the Smells of Ancient Egyptian Mummified Bodies.”
The lecture will be delivered by Emma Paolin (University of Ljubljana) and Dr. Abdelrazek Elnaggar (Ain Shams University, Cairo, and University of Ljubljana). The presentation will explore the fascinating results of interdisciplinary research on the reconstruction and analysis of scents associated with ancient Egyptian mummified remains—an innovative contribution to the understanding of sensory heritage and the material culture of ancient Egypt.
